Fernando Alonso and his Ferrari reigns supreme at the Malaysian Grand Prix

Just when you thought Formula 1 season was going to be a two horse race, Fernando Alonso put his Ferrari on top of the podium. The two time world champion showed he knew exactly what to do in the difficult weather and track conditions during the race, bringing his Ferrari back to the number one spot.

The Scuderia Ferrari F1 team had been struggling with the setup of the car at the previous Grand Prix in Australia, but everything came together for the Malaysian GP. The weather and tyres were key factors being played out during the race, with heavy downpours causing havoc on the track and in pits at times.

Ultimately, the Maranello-based Italian team, well known for their road-going performance luxury cars, prevailed in the end, with the shock result of the Mexican driver Sergio Pérez coming in second ahead of McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton in third place. All in all it was an exciting race, with many thrills and spills throughout. The next race is Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit on April 15.
