Mercedes popular in the Car Of The Year shortlist

Amongst stiff competition the luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has no less than three different cars shortlisted as candidates for the coveted Car of the Year award for 2012.

An announcement will be made public on the 5th of March next year, so there will be plenty of time for the judges to make a final decision. The shortlisted cars are from three different categories; SUV, family saloon and luxury sports cars.

The family saloon is the Mercedes-Benz B-Class B200 CDI SE which has held its own against stiff competition in its class. While in the SUV category the Mercedes-Benz M-Class 250 Bluetec gets in for its green credentials and all new design.

While the luxury sports roadster car is the Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 Blue-Eff AMG, which is an area of the luxury car market where Mercedes is always popular.
