Such is the huge demand for this new model that waiting lists have been said to be up to 18 months. The Macan will be produced in high volume numbers and it has been revealed that a staggering 50,000 people have already ordered a Macan without even driving one. The Macan is a direct competitor to the wildly popular Range Rover Evoque and adds to the notion that Porsche have become Range Rover’s closest rival. Originally known under the codename Cajun, the Macan serves as a continuation in the company’s strive to create a compact SUV offering high levels of luxury and performance.
