Porsche Macan Racks Up 18 Month Waiting List
While Porsche was made famous by sports cars like the 911, Boxster and the classic 944, the engineering experts from Stuttgart have been making their profits in recent years from a completely different type of vehicle. The Cayenne has proved increasingly popular but Porsche may have outdone themselves in creating the new Porsche Macan. Such is the huge demand for this new model that waiting lists have been said to be up to 18 months. These kind of waiting times are normally left for only the top of the range Ferraris and Lamborghinis which are built in small numbers. The Macan will be produced in high volume numbers and it has been revealed that a staggering 50,000 people have already ordered a Macan without even driving one. They are hugely impressive numbers for the Porsche Macan which has no doubt been helped by the fantastic reviews.
Customers looking to order one now are going to be disappointed though by these waiting lists so we urge you to get in touch with us here at Romans International where we will have access to cars beating the waiting lists of the main dealers.
The Macan is a direct competitor to the wildly popular Range Rover Evoque and adds to the notion that Porsche have become Range Rover’s closest rival. Originally known under the codename Cajun, the Macan serves as a continuation in the company’s strive to create a compact SUV offering high levels of luxury and performance. It comes in four different models: the Macan, Macan S, Macan S Diesel and the Macan Turbo. While the main difference between them is the engine size, all models have been lauded for their comfortable ride.
Compared to the Range Rover Evoque – long considered by many as the leader in its class – the Porsche Macan has a larger boot and more storage space; while the normal boot offers 500 litres of luggage, a further 1,000 litres is available when the rear seats are folded away. It means that despite the model’s sporty appearance, it still offers incredible practicality.
In terms of the power under the bonnet, drivers of the Macan have a host of engines to choose from; they start from the 2.0L petrol through to the 3.6L V6 Turbo found in the Macan Turbo. Combined with the seamless transmission provided by the 7-speed dual clutch, it means that the Macan Turbo can hammer from 0-60mph in just 4.6 seconds and continue accelerating until topping out at 165mph. These incredible credentials mean that the Porsche Macan is also faster than the Range Rover Evoque – another reason why it’s now being perceived as the new leader in its class.
One of the reason why the Macan is proving so popular is thanks to the raft of technical attributes, such as the same steering wheel as you would find in the £880,000 Porsche 918 Spyder. All of these improvements combine to make the Macan a force to be reckoned with on the road, with razor sharp handling one of it’s traits.
