Celebrating Porsche’s Racing Pedigree

The Porsche 911 Martini Racing Edition was first unveiled in June 2014 and was created to mark Porsche’s return to the grid at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans. All of these models were snapped up almost immediately by collectors from around the world, thus it’s clear that they serve as a piece of true motoring history. It pays homage to the legendary Porsche racing machines of the past, such as the 917 and 935 that helped to build a motorsport pedigree which still lives strong today.

Reflecting on the styling of the Porsche racing models from the 1970s, the Martini Racing Edition features the iconic Martini design stripes on the bonnet, roof section, rear wing and along the sides of the vehicle which all help make it an unmistakable collector’s item. Just in case you ever forget it’s a limited edition, there’s also a host of Martini-branded touches in the interior and door sills.

While the model looks the part with the racing livery, the rear mounted 3.8L flat-six means that it’s a true Porsche when it comes to the track, with its famous unrivalled feel and handling that comes with the 911’s heritage. Producing a mouth-watering 400bhp, it means the model can rocket from 0-62mph in just 4.3 seconds and continue accelerating until reaching a top speed of 187mph. Despite the incredible performance credentials, it sports a fuel consumption level of just 8.7 litres per 100km and the CO2 emissions for the model are just 202g/km.

With the addition of the Aerokit Cup front and rear spoilers and the SPORT Chrono Package, it’s clear that this is a car built for performance. The power from the engine is distributed through Porsche’s Doppelkupplung (PDK) paddle-shifted gearbox, which is a standard feature on the model. Set up for extremely short shift lines to offer maximum acceleration, the PDK is the ultimate choice for the racetrack and one of the many features that sets the Martini Racing Edition apart from conventional road versions.

The Martini Racing Edition was only made available in black or white, with the model we have available being the latter. It comes with all the extras you would expect from a high performance vehicle, with electrical sports seats, sports exhaust, authentic 20” Carrera alloys with a satin platinum matt finish and a sports-designed steering wheel. Other comforts inside include the built-in infotainment system with satellite navigation, plus a DAB radio; it shows that while the 911 Carrera Martini Racing Edition is built for speed, it’s also been created with comfort in mind.
