Romans Experience The Dodgeball Rally 2024

  • Romans Experience The Dodgeball Rally 2024

This year we joined forces with the Dodgeball Rally to embark on a 4-day adventure through Europe, driving some of the latest supercars on some of the most incredible roads in Europe whilst staying and eating in some amazing places along the way. The Romans team consisted of our director Tom Jaconelli, our sales executive Kristin Wilkin, our buyer Guy Nicholson and Harry Watson from our sister company Elev8 Finance.

Here's a quick round up of the trip.

DAY 1

We started off proceedings at the fabulous new Peninsula Hotel in London, where all the cars lined up outside the hotel in rather rainy conditions. The Romans team brought along 2 cars, a paint to sample Black Olive 992 GT3 Touring and our Buckinghamshire Green Aston Martin V12 Vantage and after a driver's briefing we all set off through the streets of London in convoy.

We made our way down to the Eurotunnel and boarded the train crossing the border into France.

There was plenty of motorway miles to get us to our first destination, the famous abandoned Reims-Gueux race track where we had a quick pit stop for a wander around this historic site.

We then made our way over to Champagne, yes Champagne is in fact a place and you guessed it this is where most of the famous champagne we all drink and celebrate with is made. We were fortunate enough to get a guided tour of the Veuve Cliquot HQ where we visited the cellars and had a lovely meal and of course plenty of bubbles to drink.

DAY 2

We set off bright and early from our hotel to make our way over to Geneva in much improved conditions, and it was time to really enjoy the awesome manual gearbox in the GT3 Touring and experience the superb performance of the V12 Vantage.

We stopped off for lunch at the beautiful Chateau Sainte Sabine in Dijon, the home of mustard, where we had a delicious lunch on their outside terrace and enjoyed wandering around the grounds and soaking up the sunshine.

We then made our way over the Alps on the most scenic drive of the trip so far with some wonderfully windy open roads making our way over to Geneva where we stayed at the luxurious La Reserve Hotel by Lake Geneva enjoying a Michelin star meal followed by a night out on the town.

DAY 3

The penultimate day of driving promised to the best of the trip and it duly delivered. In perfect conditions we enjoyed several incredible viewpoints and some of the most enjoyable roads in Europe as we made our way from Geneva over to Italy.

We stopped off for a mouth-watering lunch in Switzerland before making our way across the border into Italy staying at the rather lovely Castello Palazzo surrounded by Italian lakes.

DAY 4

The final day of driving saw some rather wet conditions as we drove through the Italian mountains, before a lunch stop in Genoa where we were greeted with live music and plenty of pizza and pasta in true Italian style.

The rally concluded with us making our way back over the border through Monaco and into Cannes staying at the Mondrian and enjoying a wonderful dinner at Zuma, before partying late into the night to celebrate the end of the trip!

If you didn't join us this year, you'll definitely want to consider joining us next year!
