The Bentley Continental GT V8 debuts at the Detroit Motor Show

The 2012 Detroit Motor Show opened its doors on Monday, showing an array of models which will be hitting the streets during the coming year; together with many concept cars to temp us with that might just get off the drawing board.

One of the big news cars making its debut across the pond is the new and eagerly awaited Bentley Continental GT V8. The new Bentley is sporting an all new 500bhp twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, as well as some new subtle styling and a special exhaust.

This new motor is effortlessly capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 4.6sec, also reputed to give a 40 per cent increase fuel economy than the current 6.0-litre W12 engine option. The V8 should be hitting the streets from this spring and will be option in the coupé GT and cabriolet GTC models.
