Following on from the Monte Carlo rally-winning original Alpine 110, the second and latest model translates the 1971 rally winner into the present day. Styling cues have been carried over including the rally-style lights and compact design. The interior features one-piece bucket seats with tasteful aluminium detailing.
The driving characteristics have been heavily praised since its release in 2017, with extremely light steering with sharp responses and a chassis that feels like an extension of you. The A110 weighs in at circa 1,100kg, less than the Porsche Cayman, a car which the Alpine A110 shares its class. Rear mid-mounted 1.8 litre turbocharged engine produces 249bhp in the standard A110 guise – plenty of power for the weight of the Alpine.
A car that is comparable to the Porsche Cayman is high praise for any manufacturer. With the soul exuded by the chassis and powertrain coupled with the heritage of the original Alpine 110, you are left with a unique addition to any garage and an extremely rewarding drive.
