Model Overview

Aston Martin Racing or ‘AMR’ is a sub-division of Aston Martin that focuses on incorporating motorsport inspiration into its cars by means of appearance and performance. The AMR division were given the task of creating the final and best version of Aston Martin's 4-door saloon, the Rapide. Not only would this be the last version of the Rapide but this was also the final farewell for the naturally aspirated V12 which has created an era of iconic models such as the Vanquish, DB9 and V12 Vantage.

The AMR is the most powerful version of the Rapide using the GT12's evolution of the V12 producing 595bhp and paired with the ZF 8-Speed automatic gearbox doing 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds and is the perfect way to sign off one of the great Aston Martin engines. Available for the Rapide AMR was the Halo Scheme, which dressed the exterior in a unique combination of Stirling Green paint with a Lime Green stripe. This idea was borrowed from Aston Martin’s number 95 Vantage GTE car that won the 2016 World Endurance Championship.

A total of only 210 Rapide AMRs were planned to be produced worldwide, adding to the collectibility of what is the last of its kind and an increasingly rare find in the market. This planned production number was inspired by the car reaching a top speed of 210mph due to a variety of performance upgrades. This production number was not eventually reached, as only 188 were made and just 47 stayed in the UK. Only 8 of the 47 were finished in Stirling Green, adding to the rarity of this special car.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY

  • Aston Martin's Rapide 4-door is bowing out but there's life in the old V12 yet and the AMR upgrades highlight the car's deep well of talents.
    EVO
  • The result is the Rapide AMR; the quickest, most powerful, loudest and most focused version of the Rapide ever built.
    Auto Express
  • Smooth power under your right foot, an orchestral symphony providing such a scintillating backing track to life on the road and the ability to steer it like something much smaller than its size when the feeling takes you is enough to really entertain.
