Being built to directly rival the Taycan, the RS e-tron GT always had the ingredients to become a success. Building upon the e-tron SUV, Audi decided it was time to introduce a grand tourer to the mix in the form of the RS e-tron GT. Two motors powering the RS e-tron GT combined produce a power figure of 637bhp. The result in terms of performance for an electric grand tourer weighing in at 2347kg, is a 0-62mph time of 3.3 seconds and a claimed range of up to 283 miles.
A front double-wishbone and rear multi-link setup combined with adaptive damping and air springs allows for far better body control than you might expect from a heavy electric grand tourer. The result is an enjoyable driving experience on country roads ā something that is lacking from many electric vehicles. The RS e-tron GT feels far better at providing feedback than its SUV brothers. As you step into the driverās seat, you donāt instantly feel as though there isnāt an internal combustion engine up-front. The interior is very similar to that of its petrol-powered counterparts ā and this isnāt a bad thing. Its comfortable, intuitive and not overly complicated. The RS e-tron GT doesnāt pretend to be something that it isnāt. Audi havenāt deviated from what a grand tourer should stand for, instead they have captured all that is important for a saloon that is comfortable over long distances and gone the extra mile in terms of chassis technology in order to produce something that achieves exactly what it was designed for and more.
