Built to order as a track-focused, lightweight rendition of the now legendary E92 M3, the GTS is an ultra-exclusive modern classic. Whilst BMW initially set out to produce 150 examples worldwide, in fact only 138 were ever made. According to our sources there were originally 17 UK right hand drive supplied cars of which 8 of those have now been exported leaving just 9 UK cars left in the country and this car being one the lowest mileages around. All 138 examples are finished in Fire Orange - a colour exclusive to the M3 GTS.

The changes made to the GTS when compared with the standard E92 M3 are subtle, yet incredibly effective, with the majority being weight-saving measures, a slight increase in engine size which is now higher-revving and a 30bhp power upgrade, bringing total power to 450bhp. To achieve the weight savings they were after, BMW fitted the M3 GTS with polycarbonate rear window and an all-new, model-specific exhaust system with titanium rear silencers to ensure exhaust flow is optimised. The rear seats have also been removed to make way for a roll cage, which allows the attachment of driver and passenger racing harnesses. While the transmission is the same unit used in the standard car, it's been specifically tuned for the GTS and its enlarged engine for smooth and ultra-fast gear changes.

Suspension has been upgraded for the GTS, with adjustable height, separately adjustable dampers and variable rear camber improving the handling of this car significantly. A new carbon fibre front splitter and a rear wing also help greatly with handling and weight savings, and are some of the biggest aesthetic changes over the standard car. Recaro racing buckets seats replace the standard set to contribute to both weight savings and driver stability, as well as allowing for the racing harnesses to be fitted. Drivers will notice a lack of radio, basic analogue climate controls and a carbon fibre dashboard trim to replace the standard bits. 

Overall, the M3 GTS is a fantastic option for anyone wanting the absolute pinnacle of the V8-era BMW M3. Not only do drivers and passengers get to enjoy the roar of the only V8 that BMW ever put in an M3, but they get to do so with the very best and rarest version of it. This, alongside comprehensive weight savings, upgraded suspension and brakes, and a stripped-out, barebones interior create an absolute track weapon and one of the most prized modern M cars which will appeal to collectors, investors and enthusiasts in equal measure.
