When it was unveiled by F1 legend Michael Schumacher in 2007, the 430 Scuderia went into direct competition with other hardcore cars of the time, such as the Porsche GT2 and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. The formula for these more track focused variants is quite simple, reduce weight, increase power and tweak suspension; and that is exactly what Ferrari did. Weight was slashed by 100kg with the extensive use of carbon fibre, deletion of any sound deadening and even a polycarbonate rear window. Power was increased through the use of smoother intake and exhaust manifolds and a higher compression ratio, upping power to over 500bhp which in turn upped the 0-60mph time to 3.5 seconds and a top speed nudging 200mph.
