The Ferrari SF90 Spider follows closely in the footsteps of the SF90 Stradale which has been a truly ground-breaking car for the legendary Italian car marque. Like many other convertible Ferrari's they use a hard top folding roof which flips back and seamlessly fits into the section behind the seats. Performance is near identical to that of the coupe with the same ridiculously quick 0-62mph time (2.5 secs), same power (986bhp) and 211mph top speed. It is truly staggering performance rivalling most hypercars on sale today and by adding open air thrills into the mix Ferrari have created a truly visceral drop-top driving experience. Being a hybrid comprising of a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 and no less than 3 electric motors, there is four driving modes (eDrive, Hybrid, Performance, Qualify), ranging from a silent fully electric mode good for 15 miles through to a hot-lap mode deploying the full nigh on 1000hp through all 4 wheels.
There are some added style points for the SF90 Spider with the buttresses behind the driver seat creating a little more visual drama, not to mention the added aural drama from having the roof down. Whilst the SF90 Spider won't win any awards for practicality this is a technological marvel and a masterclass in speed that needs to be experienced to be believed. With many hypercars costing in the millions, the SF90 Spider which is significantly rarer than the coupe gives you hypercar performance for supercar money and for those sunny days there is no denying it's a more enjoyable blast with the roof down.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- It’s ludicrously complicated, stupendously-clever and obscenely fast, and now they’ve doubled down on the fact that it’s a standard car by offering the equally-brilliant Spider.
- The SF90’s underpinnings were designed from the outset to work with or without a couple of square metres of aluminium or carbonfibre above the driver’s head, and removing them means you feel a step closer to that ferocious performance that feels so unnecessary but also impossible to ignore every time you drive it.
- A new volume of the thesaurus is needed to try to describe its pace and responses in almost all gears, driving modes and speeds.
