In February 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini unveiled their latest flagship V12 the Aventador LP700-4. Named after a trophy winning bull and following in the footsteps of supercar giants; the Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murcielago, the Aventador had some big tyre tracks to fill and it has done so in true theatrical Lamborghini style.
Featuring the first ever carbon fibre monocoque in a production car and a fully redesigned V12 for the first time since the Miura, the Aventador sent shockwaves through the performance car industry. The 700hp engine, driven through all four wheels, gives the Aventador world-class performance and a savage exhaust note meaning you will hear it before you see it. The exterior styling oozes dynamism and aggression, taking cues from the company’s concept cars such as the Sesto Elemento and the Reventon, making the Aventador a truly show stopping vehicle.
Open up the trademark suicide doors and step inside to find a cockpit more akin to a fighter jet than a car. With its razor sharp digital instrument dial and a missile launch button to start the engine, you realise no other company makes supercars quite like Lamborghini. This maverick Italian car marque have produced a car with a phenomenal blend of performance, charisma and road presence, more than worthy of a place in the House of the Raging Bull.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- Soundtrack is crisp, loud and addictive. The new engine delivers more performance and driveability, thanks to a more even power spread, gearchanges are even quicker.
- It responds very keenly to steering inputs and remains dead flat through to the exit. The steering is well-weighted and feels very direct.
- The Aventador's 6.5-litre, 691bhp V12 remains an absolute marvel, a hymn to furious, normally aspirated internal combustion in a world that's hell-bent on adding turbos and, worse still, electricity to the equation.
