Whilst Land Rover introduced the option of a 7 seat variant on the new Range Rover Long Wheelbase (LWB) opening up the Range Rover to larger families, there is also still the option of having a 5 seat version for the LWB, of which there are numerous benefits. Significant sacrifices in luxury were made on the 7 seat version in order to house the additional seats, most notably on the middle row seats in which you are not able to select the rear executive seats. No such problem exists on the 5 seat version of the LWB in which the Autobiography variant includes the Executive Rear Seats as standard. Not only do you get the deployable centre armrest but you also get reclining and ventilated rear seats which can be upgraded further with the Comfort Plus pack. There is also additional leg room over and above the 7 seat version which is why the 5 seat variant will appeal more as a chauffeur car and is the perfect choice for those looking for one of the most spacious and comfortable limousine style cars on the market and have no requirement for 7 seats.
This particular example is the P530 Autobiography LWB with a 4.4L V8 up front ensuring there is ample power and a smooth V8 soundtrack to accompany you. When this engine is selected, you get automatically assigned the Autobiography trim level skipping the lower trim levels altogether with all the latest technology, convenience and safety features in abundance. Whilst other manufacturers have tried to mimic the recipe used by Land Rover, none have more years in the luxury SUV game and the new generation of Range Rover has quickly become arguably the most popular luxury SUV on the market. Still familiar with the way it looks and drives but undoubtedly refreshed, even more luxurious and a much slicker offering which now also features Rear-wheel steering as standard, making the large dimensions feel more manageable in smaller spaces.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- The P530 is velvety. And creamy. It’s a sumptuously smooth motor that provides a delicious aural backdrop to the luxury within.
- There’s a certain daft delight in pointing this V8 leviathan at a long straight and getting it to summon distant objects towards you with a muted buffalo bellow.
- The V8 needs to be the flagship, then, the indulgent choice, and that’s why, in the UK, it’s offered in only high-spec Autobiography trim or above
