The Mercedes AMG GT R Roadster is the limited run model of the AMG GT R, which looks to maintain the track credentials held by its coupe sibling in drop top form. Mercedes cleverly use technology inherited from their motorsport division to allow the GT R Roadster to retain the handling that was made famous by the GT R coupe. The addition of a retractable roof adds to the drama and the aural sensation created by the beastly 4.0 litre V8 engine.

Utilising motorsport technology, the Roadster feels at home around the track which is a virtue to the rear axle steering and active aero. The lightweight structure of the roof consists of aluminium, magnesium and steel so that the handling is not compromised when compared to the GT R Coupe. The GT R Roadster is limited to just 750 units worldwide, increasing the already exclusive nature of a car that is capable when pushed on track and at the same time provides that open top experience when called upon.
