One of the key reasons Porsche has cultivated such a loyal and almost cult-like following is their exceptional ability to listen to their customers. After the limited run of the 911 R concluded, Porsche recognized the strong demand for a wingless GT3, as well as the frustration from customers who missed out on securing a 911 R. In response, the GT3 Touring was born.
The 991.2 Touring was a major success, setting high expectations for the release of the 992 generation. The 992 GT3 Touring is essentially a de-winged version of the GT3, replacing the fixed rear wing with an elegant, automatically deploying spoiler. Despite the more subtle appearance, the Touring version retains the same rear downforce as the standard GT3. Don’t be deceived by its understated design—this is still a true GT3 at its core, wrapped in a more refined silhouette. The 992 GT3 Touring is as performance-driven and hardcore as its fixed-wing sibling, but with a more discreet, unmistakably Porsche touch.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- Ask anyone in the Classic Driver office what their dream daily would be and a 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Touring would likely be the answer.
- To have this tactility and precision in such a desirable, understated package is unbeatable.
- It rides with a level of compliance wholly unexpected of a GT product, filtering out the noise, absorbing the worst and feeding back the detail you need. The level of confidence it inspires is a step above what has gone before, which wasn’t exactly low in the first place.
