The Porsche GT3 is one of those cars that makes the whole automotive world stop, listen and admire. A car that has become legendary for striking that sweet spot between track and road use at the top level of road going performance handling. The 991 continues this legacy in true Porsche fashion with some welcome updates as it attempts to stay one step ahead of the competition in this increasingly lucrative sector. The introduction of the PDK gearbox, as standard, allows the everyday man to extract so much more performance and speed from this car, offering perfect heel and toe down shifts and lightning fast upshifts with just the pull of a paddle. Slight understeer issues on the 997 have been addressed with a wider track and reworked front axle, which when combined with the beautifully calibrated rear axle steering give the 991 a phenomenally accurate and sure-footed turn in. Overall the 991 GT3 offers a nigh-on unbeatable performance package for the money and when combined with its menacing styling, everyday practicality and German build quality, the ever-increasing popularity of this car should come as no surprise.
