The 718 Cayman GT4 has recently been discontinued with 2023 being the final year of production. Following its late 2019 release the 718 Cayman GT4 had big boots to fill, with the old GT4 receiving unfaltering praise due to the perfect combination of chassis and gearbox setup for track use. In light of this, Porsche more or less kept the chassis the same, maintaining the impressive balance and stability it provides.
Adaptations were made to the previous design and incorporated into the new model to reduce air resistance around the re-designed body. These changes include a larger front splitter, with a wider bumper grille to increase airflow, a new larger single-piece rear wing that sits higher and a more aerodynamically efficient rear diffuser, which now channels air between the two separate exhaust tips. These revisions have resulted in a 40% increase in downforce on the rear axle over its predecessor. A dry sump has also replaced the old wet sump, meaning the engine can sit lower in the chassis, which in turn lowers the centre of gravity.
Despite the heavily track-oriented design, the 718 GT4 by no means compromises on comfort for everyday activities with many GT4 owners using theirs as a daily driver. Along with new and refined features this is a car builds your confidence on the track with precisely engineered handling and aerodynamics, whilst retaining a highly approachable nature and a driving experience that can be adapted superbly for your daily needs.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- It looks every inch a track special, but it could feasibly be your only road car. Porsche is capable of witchcraft.
- We're not sure any other mid-engined series-production car communicates grip levels this well.
- It feels massively exciting and massively fast, and it is.
