The 718 GT4 RS is a car that many believed Porsche would never build. The RS boasts all of the best bits of the Cayman GT4, such as the small dimensions, immense handling and fantastic, naturally-aspirated 4-Litre engine, but dialled up to 11 to create a monstrous, road-going track car.
Its response has been overwhelming from both journalists and customers alike, with many claiming that the GT4 RS will go down in history as one of the greatest Porsches ever made. Power has been increased dramatically, from 414bhp in the GT4, to 493bhp in the RS - which is just 10bhp less than the 992 911 GT3. The air intakes have been a big talking point for the RS due to their position at head-height, and the noise they produce while flying through the rev range.
Aesthetically, there are many changes that the GT4 RS brings over the "standard" GT4. A large swan-neck spoiler now graces the rear to create massive downforce and improve handling. The front end, particularly when sporting the Weissach Package, has been subtly-yet-tastefully updated, with larger front grilles and the instantly recognisable carbon fibre bonnet. All of this, combined with significant weight savings and enhanced aerodynamics, combine to form a Cayman that is unlike any other.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- This Cayman GT4 RS is the Porsche Motorsport product we’ve been waiting for, and putting it simply, it’s absolutely been worth the wait.
- Believe the hype… this is likely to go down as one of the all-time greats.
- Full credit to Porsche – they’ve thrown everything at the 718 Cayman GT4 RS and boy are we glad they did.
