The Golf GTI TCR is Volkswagen’s fond farewell to the MK7 platform before the MK8 arrives in 2020. The GTI TCR takes its inspiration and name from the Volkswagen TCR race car, entered into the WTCR (World Touring Car Racing/Cup). Over and above the standard GTI the TCR receives a uniquely aggressive front bumper, rear diffuser and roof spoiler. A bump in engine power takes the TCR to 286bhp through the front wheels resulting in a 0-60mph time of 5.6 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph (delimited to 164mph as part of the TCR Performance Pack). A unique red striped interior and badging throughout makes the car feel special and distinguished above and beyond the standard GTI. Overall the TCR offers a fitting tribute to the MK7 chassis, providing one of the most well-rounded cars in the world with that bit more precision, power and prowess.
