On the 10th of February 2011, Kankkunen set the world ice speed record on the frozen waters over the Bay of Bothnia. The all-wheel drive convertible Bentley Supersports ISR reached a speed of 205.48mph on a specially created 16.5km long frozen track over the Baltic Sea, shattering Kankkunen’s own record of 199.83 mph. In commemoration, 100 Continental Supersports ISR Convertibles were built. The 6.0L twin-turbo W12 engine produces 631bhp and merged with the all-wheel drive system and Quickshift automatic transmission, launches the Supersports ISR from 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds. These figures are impressive for a convertible even of todays’ standard, with the performance being perfectly blended with the usual Bentley luxury ride. Bentley’s designers selected three ‘stand-out’ exterior paint colours for the ISR: Beluga, Quartzite & fittingly, Arctic White. Unique, vibrant styling finishes to the exterior allow the ISR to stand out, with Supersports lettering along the sides, uniquely coloured 20” alloy wheels and bonnet vent inserts. The bold, extroverted styling is continued to the interior, with a unique gloss carbon fibre trim to the dashboard, roof panel and red contrast stitching throughout. More luxurious touches were added, such as the embroidered ‘Supersports’ script to the front seats and floor mats, with a signature Breitling clock with a red accent to the dashboard. The limited-run Bentley Continental Supersports Convertble ISR commemorates a record-breaking event in Bentley’s long history through its unique features and impressive performance.
