This SA Aperta was fully upgraded to GTO specification by Zanasi including full exhaust, brakes, exposed carbon fibre GTO side skirts, GTO front bumper with GTO grilles, rear bumper and diffuser. The optional carbon fibre roof panel was painted, along with the windscreen surround and buttresses in Grigio Silverstone Opaco as per the 599 GTO it was modelled on, similarly, the headlight buckets are painted in the same hue, away from the standard light cluster the SA Aperta traditionally shares with the standard 599 GTB.
The SA Aperta is the rarest modern-day Ferrari built, and one of the most collectible cars on the market today. In honour of designers Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina (hence the 'SA' and 'Aperta' means 'Open') and packing the 599 GTO's astonishing 661 bhp V12 and gearbox, the SA Aperta is one of the best open top supercars ever made.
The SA Aperta has a 10mm lowered ride height over the standard 599, re-calibrated magnetic dampers, thicker anti-roll bar and a reinforced body shell to make up for the loss in stiffness due to the lack of roof. With an exhaust note that harks back to the V12 Formula One cars of yesteryear, this is a rare investment opportunity to purchase a modern-day, very limited production Ferrari thoroughbred.
