The SV is the highest performing Variant available in the Sport lineup. Its main focuses are increased power, more accurate handling and significant weight saving. The SV Edition One takes things even further by bathing the Sport SV in carbon fibre and applying a Matt Carbon Bronze paint. The powerhouse upfront is a BMW derived 4.4L twin-turbo V8 producing 626bhp which hauls the 2.5 tonne Sport SV along, achieving a 0-62mph time in a staggering 3.6 seconds (with Carbon Fibre Wheels). This is the most powerful Range Rover to date. The Sport SV features a new "SV" setting that opens up the valves and transforms the car into its 'go fast' mode, which also unlocks its launch control - a first for Range Rover. The steering directness is also cranked up, so you feel much more connected with the road when you're not just wafting along on the school run. The hydraulic suspension, a worlds first, keeps the car balanced and flat in corners. This new system also saves a significant amount of weight.
To further shed weight and increase braking performance, an optional Carbon Ceramic Brake system developed by Brembo is available to spec. This nods to how serious Land Rover were about the new Sport SV in performance competency, placing it with the likes of the Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX. These Carbon Ceramic Brakes are the largest brakes ever to be used on a production vehicle, with the eight piston calipers being the largest ever produced for a Range Rover. In front of those enormous brakes, should you wish to pay £6,900 for them, sit full Carbon Fibre wheels which, along with the braking system, save a total of 70 kilograms. These are also the largest Carbon Fibre Wheels to be fitted to a production vehicle. Land Rover have really stamped their authority in the SUV market, using their years of SUV knowledge and experience to pioneer the newest technology into their latest flagship Range Rover Sport SV.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- It's two vehicles in one. A limousine that retains the Range Rover's famed off-road abilities, as well as a threateningly quick V8-powered device that redefines what an SUV is.
- The performance is truly spectacular, and despite the Range Rover Sport SV's tall height and weighty mass, body roll is well-controlled.
- The sensation of being slightly more hunkered down makes it more consistent with the SV’s intolerance of roll and the speed of its steering. And the ceaseless, growling industriousness of the V8.
